My Degree in Costume Design with textiles gave me the opportunity to explore fabric and structure, making both historically accurate costumes, and fantasy creations applying my textile manipulation skills.
I was tutored by Wayne Martin, costume maker for countless productions on stage and some of the biggest cinematic hits of the past ten years including Gladiator, Phantom of the Opera and Shakespeare in Love, I was encouraged to embrace my imaginative style and original ideas and apply them to my designs.
After graduating, I gained experience on two major west end shows; Beauty and the Beast and Seven Brides for Seven brothers. I went on to work behind the scenes on tour with the 2008 hit ‘I, Keano’ in Ireland, and was the Wardrobe Assistant on ‘Fame’ in Monte Carlo. This gave me an opportunity to work with a variety of genres, from historical and modern to dance and comedy, and to work on big budget productions with large costume departments and assets, to lower funded shows that require a great deal resourcefulness and innovation.
I now specialise in working with individual clients, taking pride in creating well made, one of a kind costumes, for performance art, burlesque, carnival or special occasion.
If you are interested in commissioning me to make a costume for you, please get in touch and we can discuss and explore ideas.
