Louise has a broad comprehension of the fashion and costume world from extensive study and experience in the industries. She has gained distinction in fashion and millinery and graduated as textile student of the year in 2006 on her degree of Costume Design & Textiles from the University of Huddersfield. In the same year, Louise impressed art critic Brian Sewell in the London College of Physician’s annual art exhibition for her stunning Sea Dress; an embellished corset and skirt inspired by the legend of the City of Y’s. Her work has been exhibited at many fashion shows in the UK, including the Clothes Show Live in consecutive years from 2007 to 2009.
In 2009, Louise began to develop her ready to wear label Oh My Honey which combines classic elements of the 1950′s fashion with her own unique twist to create beautiful flattering dresses which she now sells to customers in the UK and worldwide.
Louise moved to Brighton in 2010 and worked for several months with fashion designer Suzie Turner, creating bespoke wedding and red carpet commissions. This gave her an insight into the world of Haute Couture which, combined with her creativity and costume skills led to the development of her own label for bespoke bridal wear and imaginative costume.
She works from her home studio in Falmer, Brighton, surrounded by creativity in a 500 year old farm house on the downs where she lives with a creative houseful of musicians, performers, landscape designers and artists.
